Barcode module Create barcode labels in the form of lists with the help of the list generator. Any desired individual entry fields can also be quickly and easily printed as barcodes by clicking the right mouse key.
Service providers Generate invoices or combined invoices based upon activities; special processes for engaging technicians to execute maintenance tasks with subsequent data export (see also
EDP spy Do you have an overview of all of the hardware throughout your entire company? Do you know which software has been installed and whether or not licensing problems might arise? The EDP spy automatically determines which software and hardware is in use within your network. Up to date to the current day!

Data retrieved by the EDP spy by simply pressing a key can be subsequently analyzed by the statistics function. For example, which PCs are older than 2 years? How much total hard disk capacity is available? How often have certain programs been installed to which PCs?

LH Navigator The LH Navigator is the control center for the programs. All master data are listed in a separate window using a clear-cut tree structure. The respective detail data appear to the right of this window in tabular form. Select the object you want to view in detail (i.e. with all object and movement data) at the main window with a double click.

Diverse configuration options make the LH-Navigator an irreplaceable digital “Swiss knife” for vFM.

LH Viewer   - Programs are equipped with integrated document management. Any desired objects, such as Word or Excel files, image files, scanned documents (e.g. brochure descriptions) or other files, can be assigned to each index card. When an index card is opened, the LH Viewer automatically displays the files which are linked to the card.

The LH Viewer is a convenient, easy to use data viewer, which supports nearly all common file formats. Beyond this, is assures rapid assignment of files to index cards by means of an integrated scanner controller. Digital cameras are supported as well.

The light version of LH-Viewer is included in the scope of delivery, and supports the following formats: BMP, GIF and JPG.

The full version also supports, amongst others, the following formats: MS Office (DOC, XLS, RTF, MDB), CAD formats (DWG, DXF, DGN), bitmaps (BIP, PCX, TIF, PGA, DIP), multimedia: (MP3, MPEG, WAVE) and other formats (PDF, TXT).

LH Designer The LH Designer makes it possible for users without programming knowledge to extensively modify products. The software can be adapted to the user’s own processes after initial installation. After all functions have been defined, adaptation for each user (downsizing) is executed in accordance with their own tasks and levels of knowledge, as well as security aspects.
Client functionality   - Programs make it possible to set up clients in two different ways: all clients in a single database file, or a separate database file for each client. Mixed solutions are also possible. The solution which will work best for your company should be determined within the framework of a consultation meeting.
Outdoor functionality   - Programs which are equipped with outdoor functionality allow for simultaneous, independent processing of data at computers which are not linked to each other via a network. Object data can be viewed, maintained or newly recorded simultaneously at different locations, without linking the respective computers. Outdoor functionality assures trouble-free convergence of data from various sources.

For example, the outdoor function can be used for on-site data acquisition with a notebook. Applications include companies with various locations and freelance technicians for which data needs to be converged at regular intervals, but for which a dedicated line would be to expensive or impractical.

Remote vFM provides users with the ability to import measurement results obtained with the help of safety testers, and to save them as activities. Please refer to LH-Info no. 16, “Safety Testers”, for further information.

As a rule, the test sequences stored in safety testers are specified in a fixed fashion by the manufacturer in accordance with the standards (BGV A3, VDE 0100 etc.), and cannot be changed. However, it is desirable to modify test sequences for special tests. Remote fulfills this function:

You can create any desired test requirements (= work directives) with the help of vFM, for which you can change, for example, the order in which the test steps (= work steps) are executed, or specify your own limit values. The safety tester can be remote controlled, and the test can be executed directly from a vFM activity via the Remote function The test data are subsequently transferred to vFM automatically.

Key management Key management administrates keys and cylinders in m:n relationships. Issuance and return of keys can be documented with the special “Loan” movement.
AutoCAD 2002 interface Objects administrated with visual FM are frequently constituents of CAD plans (e.g. buildings, rooms, fixed installations).

In order to avoid costly duplicate processing of these objects in CAD and vFM, a convenient interface to CAD has been provided. It supports online and offline connection. When online connection is used, each change made in CAD is written directly to the visual FM database. In the case of offline connection, the entire CAD graphic is updated to the database after pressing a key.

The CAD interface is extremely flexible. The user can specify whether or not each entry field included in visual FM is linked to CAD, and if it can be changed in CAD.

KIS interface Bidirectional online and offline interfaces are available for SAP financial accounting (SAP R/3 via RFBIBL, SAP R/3 with the following modules: MM / FI / FI-AA / HR). 

Any other desired interfaces to other financial accounting systems can be quickly implemented.

Test instruments interface Numerous standards (e.g. VDE 0750, VDE 0751, VDE 0100, VDE 0204, VBG 4 etc.) apply to almost all equipment maintained by any given company (e.g. machines, medical devices, computers, fire extinguishers etc.). Electrical safety testers are frequently used in order to assure compliance with these standards.

vFM provides interfaces to numerous safety testers. Data can be read in from safety testers, and can be written to them as well for faster execution of tests. Please refer to the brochure for further information.

Service coordinator The service coordinator places frequently required evaluations and lists at your disposal with a single mouse click. And these can be laid out in accordance with your own requirements as well. For example, “show all unresolved malfunctions in my building management equipment”.
Statistics Program components which have been integrated into vFM for systematic evaluation of your valuable data. No external tools which are difficult to learn, but rather a tool which is extremely easy to use even for inexperienced personnel.

For example, for the following evaluations:

  • Weak point analyses, age structures, new procurement planning etc.
  • Cost analyses by cost center, department, customer service etc.
  • Quality, type and manufacturer comparisons etc.
  • Investment support by determining current media consumption based upon technical equipment cards (e.g. is the current transformer station still adequate?)
  • And much more ...

Store Typical warehouse operations including stock keeping, procurement, requirements planning and deadlines monitoring are simplified to a great extent with the easy to use Store warehouse management module.

Additional warehouse management features: extensive article management with a display of reserved quantities for each article, maintenance of average article prices, purchase order and receipts management, maintenance of alternate suppliers, exact descriptions of warehouse locations, withdrawals management with lot traceability and unique serial number for compliance with ISO 9000.

NetEvent
(error messaging module)
Events (errors) which occur in connection with objects can be quickly and conveniently entered and displayed with the help of the error messaging module. NetEvent is based upon browser technology and can be used on the Internet, or in intranets . A browser such as Microsoft’s Internet Explorer or the Netscape Communicator is thus required.
